Fujitsu Siemens to launch mini-laptop at IFA
Fujitsu Siemens plans to launch a mini laptop computer at the upcoming IFA trade show in Berlin, it said this week.
Few other details are known about the computer but it can be seen in a YouTube video and appears to be about the same size as competing mini-laptops.
The machine is likely to be detailed at a Fujitsu Siemens news conference on Aug. 28.
The entire mini-laptop sector barely existed a year ago but was brought to life when Asustek Computer launched its Eee PC in June 2007 and promised the machine would cost around US$200. Several models of the computer have now been launched and numerous other PC makers have also launched mini-laptops to capitalize on the low-cost segment of the market.
IFA is one of the world's largest consumer electronics shows and takes place in Berlin from Aug. 29 until Sept. 3.
